Following WW2, dress codes surrounding business attire relaxed and people embraced a more contemporary way of living. A causal stance was taken to office dress in Hawaii, where the sweltering climates made the traditional suit and tie combinations impractical. This multicoloured Hawaiian shirt from the 1950s features a spread collar, short sleeves, a front button fastening, a boxy fit and a Japanese pattern.
